CAMEL RIDE DUBAI
45 minutes on a real camel through the Lahbab red dunes. Hotel pickup included in a Land Cruiser. Sunrise or sunset departures. Kids 3+. From AED 180 per person. DTCM licensed.
WHAT YOU'RE BOOKING.
A camel ride in Dubai is a guided 45-minute walk through the Lahbab red dunes on the back of a real working camel — not a 5-minute photo loop next to a parked bus. We pick you up from your hotel in a Land Cruiser, drive 45 minutes to base camp, the camel rises, you mount, and you walk.
The ride is calm. The camel sets the pace. The guide walks alongside or follows on another camel. There are photo stops on the dune crests. If the timing is sunset or sunrise, the light is the reason most riders book the ride in the first place.
This is the page on the site where we ease off the throttle. Camel riding isn't extreme. It's slow, it's quiet, and that's the point. If you want the full evening programme — dune bashing, BBQ buffet, 4 live shows — the Evening Camel + Safari combo has it all.

HOW THE 4-SECOND
LURCH WORKS.
Camels rise in two stages. Back legs first, then front legs. From the saddle this feels like a 4-second lurch forward, backward, forward again. If you're not ready for it, it's startling. Once you know it's coming, it's easy.
The guide leads the camel by a head rope. You don't steer. The guide will call the lurch so you're never caught off guard.
Modest dress is respected at camp. No swimwear. Helmet is not required for camel riding.
WHO CAN RIDE.
Every bracket, every situation — here's exactly who can ride and how.
LAHBAB DESERT
RED DUNES.
Our base camp sits in the Lahbab Desert Red Dunes, southeast Dubai — about 45 minutes from central Dubai via the Hatta Road. The same deep-red dune zone we run our buggy and quad raids in, with steep faces and high ridgelines that make for extraordinary photos at both sunrise and sunset. Your pickup time depends on the session you choose — WhatsApp us and we'll confirm the slot.

ASK ON WHATSAPP →Our 45-minute camel trek starts from AED 180 per person, which includes hotel pickup and drop-off. The Evening Camel + Desert Safari combo (which adds dune bashing, BBQ dinner, and 4 live shows) is AED 250/person. The Camel + Quad Bike Combo is AED 350/person.
The ride itself is approximately 45 minutes through the Lahbab red dunes. This is not a 5-minute photo op — it's a proper trek with dune crest stops and photo opportunities. The guide walks alongside or rides a companion camel throughout.
Yes. Children aged 3–6 ride in the saddle with an adult holding them in front. Children aged 7 and older can ride solo while the guide leads the camel on foot by a head rope. Kids are naturally at ease once the initial lurch is past.
Yes, round-trip hotel pickup and drop-off in a 4x4 Land Cruiser is included with all our camel ride packages. We collect you from your hotel lobby. If you're in an apartment or Airbnb, we'll arrange a nearby pickup point.
Yes — it's a calm, slow-paced activity at ~5 km/h. The most startling part is the mount and dismount (the '4-second lurch'), which your guide will explain and assist with. The guide controls the camel by head rope throughout the trek.
For animal welfare reasons, we strictly enforce a maximum rider weight of 120 kg. This is a firm limit — no exceptions. If you're close to the limit, please contact us before booking.
Both offer spectacular light for photography. Sunrise is cooler, quieter, and more private — ideal if you want the dunes to yourself. Sunset is warmer, busier, and ties perfectly into the full evening programme with BBQ dinner and live shows. Most families prefer sunset; solo or couple travellers often prefer sunrise.
We do not recommend camel riding for pregnant women due to the sudden jolting motion when the camel rises from and lowers to the ground. Both the mount and dismount involve a sharp lurching movement that poses a risk.
The guide walks right next to the camel and controls the pace entirely. If you feel uncomfortable at any point, simply tell the guide and the camel will be brought to a kneel so you can dismount safely. There's no pressure to continue.
We offer 24-hour free cancellation on all camel ride packages. Cancel up to 24 hours before your scheduled pickup for a full refund. Cancellations within 24 hours are subject to a 50% fee. No-shows are non-refundable. To cancel or reschedule, message us on WhatsApp.
